About Dr. Adler-Neal

After obtaining her undergraduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters of Public Health (MPH) at the University of Memphis, Dr. Adler-Neal completed the combined MD/PhD program at Wake Forest School of Medicine where she studied the neurobiology of mindfulness meditation. Dr. Adler-Neal then completed a psychiatry residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center prior to moving to Arizona with her family. Dr. Adler-Neal’s research and practice has sparked an ongoing passion for exploring the world’s major spiritual traditions as an avenue for her own self development, an element she brings to her practice for interested patients. She strongly believes that mental health is influenced by the entirety of our lives, encompassing everything from our thoughts, beliefs, and relationships to our physical environment and diet. Because of this, she thoughtfully tailors each person’s care to his or her unique circumstances. Dr. Adler-Neal empowers her patients to connect with their own intuition and ultimately curate a life filled with joy and purpose.

Psychotherapy

Dr. Adler-Neal pulls from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. For those interested, she has developed a unique six step method that aids in translating the therapeutic work done in session into tangible change in patients’ lives.

Integrative Approaches

If felt to be appropriate, Dr. Adler-Neal will assess for any underlying biological cause of symptoms through nutritional testing/supplementation. She also incorporates exercise, herbal supplements, meditation, mindful movement, and spirituality into her treatment plans.

Medications

Dr. Adler-Neal utilizes traditional pharmacologic approaches to treat psychiatric disorders. These medications affect various neurotransmitters in the brain to target mental health symptoms.
